Using 100% organic ingredients our juices and smoothies are bursting with flavour. We’ve got a delicious menu to choose from or we are happy to mix it up a bit if there’s something specific that you would prefer. We’ve got Smoothies made with our own freshly made Almond Milk, Pure Fruit Blends and Green Smoothies.

Our Story

Organic on Charles opened on the first day of Spring in 2007. Brother and sister, Lyndon and Loren McMath came from a strong background in fresh produce and organic food and wanted to apply the skills they had learned to an organic shop without diminishing the organic integrity. More than anything else though, it is the passion they have for organic produce that is obvious to anyone who walks through the door.

Lyndon’s specialty is fresh produce and you can nearly always find him on the shop floor looking after the produce. Feel free to ask him any questions you have as there’s not too much about fruit and vegetables that he doesn’t know. Loren’s specialty is the grocery lines in the shop. If there’s any weird or wonderful thing you are looking for, wanting to know more about or wanting to know how to use, feel free to ask her advice.

What you can expect to find at Organic on Charles….

With a wide-variety of fresh, organic food to choose from, Organic on Charles makes it easy for you to find nutritious, pesticide-free food.

We work hard to source as big a range of organic produce. Due to seasonality and quarantine regulations, there are, however, sometimes limitations in what organic food is available in WA. While this may be frustrating, it’s good to realise that produce in season is fresher, generally locally grown and nearly always less expensive. If something you want is not in stock, our staff can tell you when it will be available.

Our staff are knowledgeable and well informed about the benefits of organic eating. We are a small, neighbourhood grocery store and love the community feel of our shop – talking to customers and answering questions about organic food and healthy living.

Organic food is free from pesticides and herbicides. No artificial fertilizers are used on the soil. No genetically modified organisms are allowed in organic agriculture. There’s a whole lot more to it than that, but those are the basics. We often get asked what has been done to things to make them organic, but it’s more about what they don’t do. It’s just good food grown the way it’s been grown for hundreds of years (with the help of a few modern conveniences and some great innovations, just not the new chemicals).
